Outcomes of the Review

Firstly thank you to all those who participated in this process, and I’m sure that we would all like to especially thank the Chair, Management Committee and the Task and Finish Group for the many hours they gave to taking this forward.

This has culminated in a new Membership Pack, which consists of:

• Member Declaration Form       
• Chair Job Description

Members have a chance to make final comments up till 24 February 2010.  The Review will then close, and will be implemented following the Annual Conference.

2009 Review of WMRAF

WMRAF Chair - Bob Forster - instigated a review of the Forum in the July 2009 meeting. We are working (as near as we can) to this timetable

It started with these three questions:

1. What should we be doing?
2. What outcomes should we be achieving?
3. What structures do we need to support this?

and was then expanded to this questionnaire.

About 50% contributed via replying to the questionnaire, and many others inside and outside the Forum spoke directly to the Chair.

This resulted in a Review Recommendations paper, which was submitted to the Management Committee on 29 July meeting.

The Management Committe recommended a Task and Finish Group be commissioned to review the options and make a recommendation to members at the September 09 Forum meeting.

The Task and Finish Group met on 19 August 09. They reviewed the purpose of the Forum, looked at future challenges, requirements and regional governance structures. Steve Holliday chaired the meeting and will be presenting the outcome back to the Forum at the September meeting. Relevant supporting papers will be issued with the Forum papers. A paper was put to the Forum on 10 September, and Steve Holliday (as Chair of T&F group) gave a presentation to go through the main points.
