West Midlands Rural Accord
The Rural Accord was set up in 2000 under the provisions of the original Regional Concordat. It has served as a regional strategic group of public sector bodies aiming to co-ordinate and communicate their activities on rural regeneration in the region. During that time there have been changes in regional structures, including the establishment of the Rural Affairs Forum as a rural stakeholders group.
The Rural Accord, an agencies officers group, was established in 2001 before the creation of Defra or any Defra representation in GOWM. Since its inception, there has been the establishment of a , the and other changes in regional structures.
Future arrangements
The Rural Accord has continued to meet until January 2008, when partners decided that its work should be continued by other organisations. For more information about that decision, see the page on future arrangements.
West Midlands Rural Delivery Framework (WMRDF)
In the course of its work the Rural Accord worked with partners to produce the first iteration of the WMRDF. This is now available online.
You can read about the framework here.
As part of the development process, the Rural Accord arranged an online consultation for the Framework, which took place between 10th November 2005 and 13th February 2006. The consultation papers have now been archived. If you wish to obtain copies of the comments that were made on the Framework, please write to:
